Media and Media Records

In other parts of this project, it has been posited that contra dances are themselves cultural works/objects which are physically manifested in time and space by occurrences or performances of a specific dance, which have been termed events. While it is possible that many of these occurrences may not be directly documented by video or audio recordings or photographs, or even indirectly, through documents like event programs, set lists, or dance schedules, those events are still said to have occurred if enough information can be gathered to support a record of its happening (see Event Records). Beyond that basic cataloging of the dance occurrence (in an Event Record), an event which is fortunate enough to have video or image documentation may have one or more Media Records (as it is always possible, for instance, that one person or eight people may record the exact same event). Therefore, thinking in terms of entity relationship modeling, each of these Media Records are related to single events, and each of those events, along with any other performances of the same dance, are themselves related to a single dance (or cultural work).
